Stabilization unit KNOTT ETS PLUS 001 for cargo trailers 1000-1400 kg

Stabilization system KNOTT ETS Plus is an electronic system for stabilizing braked trailers up to a total weight of 3500 kg braked by an overrun brake, connected to the towing vehicle with a 13-pin plug.

The KNOTT ETS Plus stabilization system automatically detects critical trailer oscillation and, if necessary, stabilizes the combination by applying targeted braking to the trailer wheels. This will "stretch" the rig and reduce the sideways sway of the trailer.

Unlike passive stability features such as the stabilising ball coupling, the ETS Plus continuously monitors the trailer's lateral sway during the journey and actively takes appropriate but sensitive action to immediately calm the sway if critical values are exceeded. ETS Plus thus makes a major contribution to increased safety when driving with the kit. Even so, ETS Plus cannot prevent any dangerous situation. Even when using ETS Plus, it is essential to follow all the principles of safe driving and, in particular, to adapt the speed and driving style of the train to the current situation and conditions.

For optimal and effective trailer stabilization, it is recommended to use wheel brake units with automatic adjustment, the so-called KNOTT ANS system. Most wheel brake units KNOTT allow for the retrofitting of brake shoes with the ANS system.

For trailers with continuous power consumption, e.g. due to appliances being switched on or charging, a unit for automatic short-term disconnection of the trailer's appliances when ETS Plus intervenes can be purchased as a special accessory. This prevents overloading of the power outlet for the trailer from the towing vehicle.

This system is designed for installation on trailers with mechanical braking systems.

To ensure that the KNOTT ETS Plus stabilization system functions optimally, it is available in multiple variants, each designed for a specific trailer weight range. The weight of the trailer must not only not exceed the maximum weight of the weight range, but must also not be less than the minimum of the weight range. If the trailer weight is insufficient, excessive braking intensity during ETS Plus intervention will adversely affect the ability to stabilise the rig and may result in the trailer wheels locking.
