Brake damper bracket KNOTT KF27-A1/B, KF30-E, KFG20-A/30-A/35-D, KRV30-B
Damper holder for overrun brakes KNOTT: KF 27 A1 KF 27 B KF 30 E KFG 20 A KFG 30 A KFG 35 D KRV 30B The cast iron holder is used to attach the end of the shock absorber piston rod to the overrun brake body. There are two M12 threaded holes in the bracket at the top for screwing to the ramp brake body (screws not included). The hole for mounting the damper piston rod is unthreaded. The piston rod is secured in the hole with a common M10 nut at the front and a self locking M10 nut at the back, or a common M10 nut with a fan or spring washer (nuts not included). Use fasteners of strength class 8 or higher.
When mounting, care must be taken to ensure that the shock absorber is mounted slightly compressed in the bracket (minimum 15 mm or more). If there is not sufficient margin left at the end of the damper step, the damper will be damaged during operation by such incorrect mounting.
At the same time as replacing the bracket/damper, it is necessary to check the other components of the ramp brake, especially the stop ring, the drag tube fitting and to check and adjust the wheel brake units including their connection to the ramp brake.
Installation requires professional knowledge. We therefore recommend entrusting it to a trained KNOTT service.
