Towbar AL-KO AK 270, 2700 kg, 50/45/40/35 mm, H12V12 + SoftDock
Towbar coupling set AL-KO AK 270 for 50 mm diameter towbar with Soft Dock rubber cap and spacers for mounting on 35, 40 and 45 mm diameter towbars.
Tow ball coupling (coupling joint) AL-KO AK 270 replaces the older type AK 300. It is designed for mounting on ramp brakes up to 2700 kg with a 50 mm diameter pulling tube and drilling for horizontally positioned fixing bolts. Thanks to the included spacers, it can also be mounted on a 45, 40 or 35 mm diameter towing tube The coupling is normally fastened with two horizontally positioned screws (not included, supplied separately on request). There is also a hole for a vertically positioned bolt at the rear of the towing coupling, which allows the towing coupling to be used on ramp brakes with "cross" mounting bolts.
The maximum permissible vertical load of the coupling is 120 kg and is designed for trailers equipped with a trailer brake up to a maximum permissible/technically permissible trailer weight of 2700 kg.
The drawbar coupling is equipped with a correct connection indicator. For a disconnected or incorrectly connected joint, the green plastic indicator is embedded in the metal bed on the coupling head and cannot be seen. At the same time, the red stripe on the back of the handle is clearly visible. When properly connected, the indicator will slide up from the metal bed and remain in the extended position so that it is clearly visible. The lever is folded into the closed position and the red strip on the back of the lever is hidden.
On the right side of the clutch you will find a wear rate indicator. Once the drawbar coupling is connected, the level of wear on the joint and the associated risks can be quickly assessed. The wear rate indicator is divided into two parts - one marked with a "+" sign and one marked with a "-" sign. When an unworn drawbar coupling is connected to an unworn ball joint, the indicator slider is in the field with a "+" sign. Gradual wear of the seating surfaces of the joint results in gradual displacement of the indicator. If, after connecting the coupling to the towball, the indicator shows a "-" sign in the field, the towball coupling must be replaced with a new one. Attention! If you have an excessively worn towball on your vehicle, the indicator will not be in the "+" field even after a new towing clutch has been connected and there is a real risk of the coupling disconnecting while driving!
Compared to the older AK 300 type, this drawbar coupling is also equipped with a soft plastic handle and anti-slip protection. There is also a new push-button lock on the handle to prevent the pulling clutch from opening spontaneously or unintentionally.
Supplied with a Soft Dock rubber cap to protect the towing vehicle from scratches during minor collisions when handling the trailer and three spacers for mounting on 35, 40 or 45 mm diameter towing tubes. The spacing of the side mounting holes is 47-54 mm. The hole spacing for mounting with 1x vertical and 1x horizontal screw is 40 mm.
