Axle dampers for Gromex trailers are not included in the basic trailer price. This is an optional extra that we strongly recommend everyone to take advantage of. In the overall value of an otherwise perfect trailer, this is not a big price increase. Your reward is even better ride comfort and much more stability when transporting your cargo.

Octagonal shock absorbers AL-KO red OCTAGON are designed to optimally improve the characteristics of trailer movements. They eliminate the dangerous bouncing of the trailer on the road, the bane of every driver. The use of shock absorbers means a smoother ride, more confident braking and optimum contact with the road. Red shock absorbers AL-KO are designed for single axle 1800 kg and for dual axles 3500 kg

Easy installation: the hinged hinges and mounting, built-in rubber allow for an angled deviation of the mounting position by 5°, without tension and without increased friction. Unlike conventional shock absorbers, AL-KO Octagon shock absorbers have screws permanently built into the shock absorber eyelet, and are therefore part of the shock absorber equipment, together with the nuts.

Durability guarantee: overload protection protects the material against overvoltage. AL-KO uses only high-quality seals. The valve is made of chrome-plated metal. The piston roughness is only 0.1 Ra. Dust protection between outer and inner tube. AL-KO uses only special oil.

• Octagon Plus is a special shock absorber with an optimized damping curve for axles AL-KO.
• The colour resolution of the shock absorber determines the axle load range for which the shock absorber is designed (see below).
• Unlike conventional wide-range shock absorbers, AL-KO Octagon Plus shock absorbers are always optimized for a specific weight range. This prevents overdamping or underdamping.
• AL-KO Octagon shock absorbers take into account the inherent damping of the unique hexagonal axle suspension system AL-KO in their characteristics. This results in optimum damping over the entire load range of the trailer.
• Only AL-KO Octagon shock absorbers will ensure the best driving characteristics of the trailer in combination with AL-KO axles.
• The end of the shock absorber is fitted with a spherical silentblock, which allows the shock absorber head to swing up to ^5° from the retaining bolt. This ensures minimal stress on the shock absorber mounting.
• The use of high quality materials and dust protection between the outer and inner tube ensures a long service life of the silencers.
• The valve is made of chrome-plated steel, the surface roughness of the piston rod is only 0.1 Ra.
• Also available in other colours for other weight ranges.
• Supplied with two M12x65 screws and self-locking nuts for fixing.
• The red silencer is designed for for single-axle trailers with a total weight of over 1350 kg up to 2000 kg and for double-axle trailers with a total weight of over 2700 kg up to 3500 kg.
