Brake bushings AL-KO 161S/251S/251G/251VB dia. 50 mm (front + rear)
The set of original towbar mounting bushings for brakes AL-KO type 161S and 251S is intended for reconditioning an overrun brake that already has excessive play in the towbar mounting. The pulling tube of these ramp brakes has a diameter of 50 mm. The bushings always have a smaller inner diameter and after pressing them into the brake body they must be calibrated to the exact diameter of the pulling tube used. The set consists of one front and one rear case. The front sleeve is fitted with a fitting for fitting a rubber cuff.
Before replacing the bushings, we recommend that you assess the state of wear on the surface of the towing tube and, if necessary, replace the tube together with the bushings. The surface of the towing tube should be completely smooth. Any unevenness of the surface leads to a reduced service life of the new bushings.
CAUTION: After pressing the bushings into the ramp brake body, it is necessary to ream the bushings (preferably with a manual adjustable reamer with extended guide) to the exact diameter of the pulling tube. Before inserting the pulling tube, it is necessary to drill holes for grease in the lubrication points. Improper installation can lead to irreversible damage to the bushings or other parts of the brake system.
We recommend that you entrust the replacement of bushings to a trained workshop with the appropriate workshop equipment. In our service we will reinstall the brake after prior ordering (repair time depending on the condition and age of the brake about 80 - 120 minutes).
