- This cable is not capable of securing the trailer in the event of failure (falling off) of the car's detachable towing device. The cable is pulled over the ball, i.e. when the detachable part of the towing device - the ball - falls off, the cable has nothing to hold on to. For detachable hinges with a locking eye located outside the detachable part, it is advisable to use a safety catch with a carabiner, e.g. Order No. 100996, hooked into the eye outside the detachable part of the hinge.
