Brake cable KNOTT 830/1020 mm quick-mount (with lens)
- Original brake cable KNOTT with Teflon sliding insert and grease plugs for perfectly smooth operation with minimal resistance.
- Suitable for axles KNOTT GB/VGB up to 1800 kg (e.g. GB8, GB10, GB13, GB15, GB18, VGB8, VGB10, VGB13, VGB15, VGB18) and wheel brake units KNOTT 16-1365 (160x35), 16-1369/1 (160x35), 20-2425/1 (200x50), 20-2426/1 (200x50), 20-4320 (200x35), 20.32-1647 (203.2x40), 25-2025 (250x40), 25-2026 (250x40).
- WARNING: Non-original imitations of cable ducts KNOTT are appearing on the market. These imitations have a different internal construction. In many cases, they try to imitate the appearance of the original KNOTT cable ducts with stainless steel cable by using blue sheathing. Any defects in the brake system caused by the use of non-original imitation cables are excluded from the warranty.
- Ending the rope with a quick-assembly end (so-called lens) allows for easy and quick connection of the rope to the new rocker arms KNOTT with a side cross-section for threading the rope without using tools.
- It is recommended to change the quick-connect ducts all at once. When replacing only one brake cable, it is preferable to use a threaded cable (also available in our range), where the length of the remaining older cables can be precisely adjusted on the thread.
- The wire rope can not be used in combination with the older type of rope hoist without side cross-sections for quick-release ropes.
- On the side of the wheel unit there is a rope terminated with a stopper, which is used to insert the rope-rope coupling - spreader bar. The cable coupling - spacer is part of the wheel brake unit of each axle. It can also be ordered separately under order no. 90075.
- Note: In brake systems that have not been regularly maintained, in some cases the cable-brake coupling may appear to be pressed onto the cable - especially older cast iron couplings. This is caused by corrosion of the clutch at the plug hitch. The clutch can usually always be released and used. However, it lacks the original corrosion protection.
- The sleeve for mounting on the outlet of the wheel unit has an outer diameter of 22 mm and an inner diameter of 18.5 mm
- For two-axle trailers, KNOTT recommends the so-called asymmetrical cable connection, where the front axle is connected to one side of the tandem rocker arm and the rear axle is connected to the other side. This ensures better symmetry of braking of the remaining wheels in the event of one cable being pulled out in an accident, for example.
- Symmetrical wiring of the cable ducts, with both left wheel units connected to the left side of the tandem rocker and both right wheel brake units connected to the right side of the tandem rocker, is also acceptable and functionally similar to the asymmetrical wiring in normal operation.
